Look crepes in Paris are lacey, delicate and crisp. The batter is finicky...requiring rest and refrigeration. The cookware is expensive and not versatile.
Read MoreBretonne Sauce is a warm, French emulsion sauce similar to Hollandaise. This is a knocked back version of the classic French sauce. Quicker. Easier. Still fabulous. I served with pan-fried trout, but it’s applications are endless.

Read MoreMy dad loved French Onion Soup. These are the french crocks that I grew up with so this is comfort food on every level for me. You can find so many recipes out there BUT hands down none will ever beat Julia Child’s. Her technique to perfectly caramelize the onions is worth the extra time (hands off!) because of the depth of flavor. Try this...promise you won’t regret it!
Read MoreClearly, blackberries & peaches are informing my choices this week! This is a fabulous homemade bbq sauce of fresh blackberries, habanero, coffee and stout (yep...all I needed to add was bacon and I would have thought “so this is heaven!”) Can you see some peaches getting happy on the grill as well?
Read MoreI saw this on food network years ago via @thepioneerwoman and it’s a family favorite. Now that I’ve moved to Birmingham with Chilton County peaches, well DANG!
Read MoreI love this recipe by @melissadarabian ...it’s a crowd pleaser and my kids eat it up! I follow her recipe to the tee ... only subbing out the vegetable oil with olive oil. But this time I was able to buy fabulous Bone Broth @pepperplacemarket so I subbed out the chicken stock as well (I'm getting in those functional foods: apple cider vinegar, bone broth).

I get it....kinda because I gotta be straight up. I love this stuff. I’ve waited 51 years for my mom to show me how she makes her chopped liver. This is Home to me. This is my Dad (and even in his last days of dialysis would say “Cash, pack a little chopped liver & a little slice of rye”. ) And now it’s a great afternoon with my mom.

Read MoreSometimes you just have to throw together a Greek Salad. Doesn’t seem to be the time for Romaine😳, so I opted for baby arugula as the base.
Grilled Whole Red Snapper. Done! 🤗 I decided (because I prepped Tzatziki for the week)to find a Greek inspired recipe. The most daunting moment was halfway through grilling, I realized I had to SERVE the fish...well I was not the waiter in Julia & Julie deftly removing fillet from bone, but it wasn’t a disaster so I’m calling this a cooking adventure WIN (and the kids all ate it too).
